The Mess we Make πŸ˜

A cabinet that needs cleaning
But is a fun subject, nevertheless!
πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ™„

As an artist, one notices more, the good and the bad… The magical and the mundane 😊… And all of it is a creative opportunity to experiment with different mediums πŸ‘Œ

Spill, and Don’t Clean Up πŸ˜

Sometimes, it’s great to relinquish control… It’s a release from all the desires and goals.

Just put water on paper, float your favourite colours and let the magic happen!

It needn’t mean anything, or mean anything, it’s just a means to let go… And be fine with what happens.

Too often we stop enjoying the process of creativity because we have an imaginary sense of ‘expectation’ from ourself… It’s OK to just relish colours, like little kids do all the time 😊🎢

Black and White

When he paints
He becomes
a happy child
All his colours
Going wild
In an art file,
That’s his
biggest treasure
A place that gives him
Endless pleasure
And every artwork
He imprisons
with a marker
black and white
A visual barrier
Against the fights
And
Within these boundaries
His happy world lies
Wiping off his tears
Soothing
his anguished cries

Spring!! In a set of Three Paintings

I started with one canvas, but the simple joy of greens and reds was too much to resist 😊

The quick drying medium of acrylic is very attractive in that respect. It urges one to ‘get on with it’ no excuses!

It’s nice to push all thoughts aside and just plunge into colour and see what comes out of it… No expectations, except to enjoy a lazy spring afternoon😁

Golden Mountains and White Lotus πŸŒΏ

The Lotus invade my psyche… I dream about them in silent ponds, going about their business of blooming. I see the colour of water change around them in my minds eye… It completes my joy in the process of art making.

I ease out each leaf from the background and make them cluster around like friends. From their midst I make a Lotus rise, like a queen, regal and brilliant.

Art becomes more than just an act of applying colours… For a short period of time I play the role of a creator, in the limited universe of my canvas… πŸ’•

Soulmates 😊

In the studio, all pretence drops. One faces oneself squarely. Amongst colour and creativity, ones true self emerges, slowly but surely.

My studio gives me so much more than I give it… A potted plant here, a painting for it there, but it welcomes me with unflinching joy and security, everytime.

No matter with what mood I visit, it has the power to calm me down, divert and distract, encourage and attract, the best that is in me.

I think a space has a soul of it own. It forms a unique relationship with whosoever enters it.

In that respect, my studio and I are Soul mates… That bring out the best in each other.. 😊
