A perforated sky, angelic light and birds heading home…the kind of scene that make one stop by the roadside and just relish the magical, dramatic moment of an unforgettable sunset 🙂
The immense bounty of nature brings a prayer of gratitude in the heart and on canvas:)
Imagining landscapes in my mind and giving them shape on canvas is something that I enjoy deeply.
In the silence of the studio there seems to be another communication channel that starts working 🙂
Nature has a way of teaching us the biggest lessons in aesthetics and beauty. Even when it uses monotones, there is power and vibrancy. This shot, clicked from one of the highest points in Kalimpong, West Bengal, delighted me with its muted and pastel colours and its startling clarity.
To the sky
Seeds and leaves
Fragrance and I
Sometimes I pick up fallen flowers and leaves and bring them home. I observe them carefully first and then without looking at them, try to sketch them. The sketch is lifeless, as if there is something still left for the flower or leaf to say, and that they can say it only if they are nestled in your palm or while being held between your fingers 🙂
The morning brings beautiful surprises.. Like this one of a Peacock in its full glory, perfectly centered through the circular grille of an iron gate 🙂
Nothing like letting nature teach us the biggest lessons in life in its own quiet way.
Season inevitably change… Nothing stays forever… Fresh growth is a necessity for survival… Let go of that which has done its time…
A morning walk is a time for revelations. The thought of venturing out before the sun has risen and to actually witness daybreak fills my heart with joy.
The opportunity to capture interesting sights with ones cellphone is amazing too. The shot above was taken from a Samsung phone, a tiny flower hung suspended by an invisible thread, it was swaying gently in the breeze. A pause, a click and back to my walk… So very fulfilling!
