Bottle brushes are in full bloom. They look like the tear of every Weeping Willow branch ended in a flower. It’s a gorgeous sight.
At a distance, hills fade away into gentle shades of lilac tinged with the orange of a Sun that is still mustering its strength to rise.
Bird call fills the air, lilting, musical, ethereal… They flit from branch to branch with joyous energy.
Such a perfect world has been created, and it’s never more evident than in the the early morning hours… In the hills 😊🐦☀️☕
A memory from the past
nestled amongst rocks…
And a temple,
Always a little red temple,
At a distance 😊

When taking a ride on a shikara in the backwaters of the Dal lake, the parting between the Lilly pads become roads for navigation! At a certain point a right turn takes you to a floating market, another one to the main lake, yet another to a housing colony of homes on stilts. .
I am told that when the Lillies and Lotus bloom, sometime in June, these backwaters are a sight to behold! Imagine water roads and Lilly embankments! Truly magical! .

You start dying slowly
if you do not travel
if you do not read
if you do not listen to the sounds of life,
if you do not appreciate yourself….
Lets REALLY Live!!
On the Road
‘The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And wither then? I cannot say..’
Pedong, West Bengal,
Dirt Roads or Pagdandis in Hindi, never fail to arouse my curiosity. The way they meander into distant mountains and hills makes me wonder about their final destination …
Kalpa in Kinnaur is one of the most beautiful places in Himachal Pradesh. It is home to apple orchards and peach trees, that create a heavenly atmosphere. A hundred kilometres further up the mountains and one leaves all this lush greenery behind to reach the unforgiving, barren mountains of Spiti.
At every turn nature fascinates with its variations in flora and fauna!
Imagine waking up to such beauty! It was during a trip to the North East part of our beautiful country that we came upon a stunning village nestled amongst gorgeous hills. Pedong, was quaint and small and a walkers haven. Wake up early, and stroll till you find a little shop selling freshly brewed tea, made on a clay stove. The taste is inimitble!
Nature has a way of teaching us the biggest lessons in aesthetics and beauty. Even when it uses monotones, there is power and vibrancy. This shot, clicked from one of the highest points in Kalimpong, West Bengal, delighted me with its muted and pastel colours and its startling clarity.
Sometimes the setting is perfect for some reflection, contemplation or meditation. Imagine elegant mountains shrouded by low-lying clouds and imagine the scene changing every time you blinked! The constant change and the reassuring permanence teach an inspiring lesson..
